Do you speak Ibble Dibble? It’s more fun than Pig Latin, and twice as impossible for the uninitiated to understand.
Here’s how it works.
Simply insert the nonsense sound “ibble” before every vowel sound, so the word “strawberry” comes out sounding “stribble-aw-bibbleair-ibble-ee.”
For words that begin with vowels, all you do is substitute the sound “dibble” at the beginning of the word.
Let’s see how Ibble Dibble works in a sample sentence.
Suppose you wanted to say, “If you are able, give me back my bubble bath, Sibyl” in Ibble Dibble.
That becomes “Dibble-if yibble-ooo dibble-are dibble-ayb-ibble-ul, gibble-ive mibble-ee bibble-ack mibble-eye bibble-ub-ibble-ul bibble-ath, Sibble-ib-ibble-yl.”
The trick is to remember that you’re looking for every vowel sound, and you’re not paying any attention to the way the word is spelled.
Everything is phonetic, so “bubble” has two vowel sounds. Gibble-et dibble-it?
This activity can be lots of fun and quite usefull too – if you are able to stop laughing long enough.
