A Creative Activity
Everybody loves a friendly robot. And you can make a quick and easy robot suit out of some readily available kitchen supplies.
Materials Required:
- 2 shopping bags
- Crayons and markers
- Paper towel tubes
- Plastic containers and lids
- Cereal box
- Kraft paper
Instructions:
Everybody loves a friendly robot. And you can make a quick and easy robot suit out of some readily available kitchen supplies.
Starting at the top, fashion head gear out of a paper bag.
Make holes for the robot’s eyes, nose, and mouth.
For a more mechanical look, take two yogurt container tops and cut out the bottoms.
Tape the remaining circular frames around the eye holes.
You can also cut out the bottoms of small paper cups, then tape the cups to the mask.
Fashion an angular nose from cardboard. (Of course, you can simply have your child sketch in facial features with crayons and markers.)
Next, cut out armholes and a neck hole in another paper shopping bag.
Glue on paper towel tubes, straws, plastic container lids, coffee cup lids, packing materials, and other mechanicallooking objects.
Wrap a cereal box in kraft paper, add some dials, and tape or glue it to the torso shopping bag; this is the control center.
Finish the outfit with kraft paper sleeves and pantlegs; your child is now ready to bring the robot to life.
