An Indoor Play Activity
Sure, you and your child can come up with some pretty snazzy drawings by conventional means. But what happens if you take the more radical step-holding the crayon between your toes instead of in your hands?
Materials Required:
- Large sheets of paper
- Crayons
Instructions:
Sure, you and your child can come up with some pretty snazzy drawings by conventional means. But what happens if you take the more radical step-holding the crayon between your toes instead of in your hands?
Use a couple of big pieces of construction paper, clear a space on the floor, and give it a try. Before too long, your child may become a foot-drawing expert.
This activity is not only a lot of fun it also serves as a reminder of the flexibility that is such an essential feature of the human race.
Tell your child that people who have lost the use of their hands are well known for adapting themselves to the new situation by learning to write, paint, draw, count, hold objects, and do any number of other tasks with their feet.
Stick with drawing for now, though; you might just be surprised at how steady-footed your child is.
