An Arts and Crafts Activity
We all know we’re not supposed to draw on our clothing – or are we? Sometimes it’s best to break a rule.
Materials Required:
- T-shirt
- Nontoxic colorfast markers
- Newspapers
- Paper bag
Instructions:
We all know we’re not supposed to draw on our clothing – or are we? Sometimes it’s best to break a rule here and there … with appropriate supervision, of course.
For the price of a new, blank T-shirt and a set of non-toxic colorfast markers, you can help your child create a personalized garment that will show off his or her artistic and fashion design talents for the best.
A do-it-yourself T-shirt will be worn with great pride.
Clear a space on table or floor, then lay down a number of sheets of newspaper. This will be your work area.
Insert a flattened grocery bag into the shirt to keep the colors from soaking through to the other side.
Use masking tape to pull the shirt taut, and start in.
Possible designs include:
My family
Sunshine
Favorite animals
Brothers or sisters
Our home
Self-portrait
My pet
Watch out, Calvin Klein!
