An Indoor Play Activity
This game is simple. How fast can you talk? (And it goes without saying that some of us will be far better than others!) 🙂
Materials Required:
- Watch
- Paper
- Pencil
Optional Materials:
- Tape recorder
Instructions:
This game is simple. How fast can you talk?
Select a poem or other recitation everyone in your family knows by heart. (“Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” and “Baa, Baa, Black Sheep” are favorites around our house.)
Get out your watch, yell “Go” – and have one of your kids zoom through the text as fast as possible. No skipping words!
Record the various times on a sheet of paper and place them in a notebook – you’ll want to know if you set any world records.
For some real fun that will have everyone in laughter, try tape recording your speed talking efforts.
You may endup hearing something that sounds a little bit like this …..

(What language was that anyway?)
