An Arts and Crafts Activity.
Maybe your child can’t quite afford a high-speed photocopier, but this activity will provide the next best thing.
Materials Required:
- Paper
- Pencil
- Crayons
Optional Materials:
- Tape
Instructions:
Maybe your child can’t quite afford a high-speed photocopier, but this activity will provide the next best thing. All you need is a crayon, a pencil, and a few pieces of paper.
Have your child scribble with a crayon until the paper is covered nearly completely with a solid color. (Don’t get too concerned if there are small gaps of white space; the main thing is to provide a consistent coat of color that will transfer to another sheet of paper, and small gaps may even add an interesting stippled effect.)
Now have your child place the sheet, colored side down, on top of a clean sheet of paper of the same size. A drawing created on the rear of the colored sheet will now produce an exact duplicate on the sheet below!
Handy Hint: You may have to tape the sheets in place before your child starts in on the pencil drawing; if the papers shift, the underlying image will, as well.
Reductions? Enlargements? Well, we’ll have the design team get back to you …
This Childrens Activity is sponsored by Zane Education – the home of online Visual Learning.
